About Steven Atwell
I moved to Santa Fe before my first birthday, and this beautiful city has been home ever since. I attended Santa Fe public schools, including Wood Gormley Elementary, Harrington Junior High, Santa Fe Mid-High, and Santa Fe High School.
From a young age, I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit. I started out shoveling snow in the winter and cleaning yards in the summer, eventually delivering newspapers for many years. Later, I spent over two decades as an independent distributor for a local dairy, which laid the foundation for my commitment to hard work and community service.
In 1990, I began my real estate career, and by the mid-to-late 1990s, I also launched a construction company specializing in custom homes. In 2002, I was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease and underwent a life-saving liver transplant in 2004. I’m grateful to say that over 21 years later, I’m still going strong.
